Even before the inception of the Internet, men have been searching for love abroad. Many are successful, while others are not.

There are many men that believe it is easy to find someone pretty, young and attractive abroad. While this idea does hold true, in other ways this kind of relationship is harder to build. If you do a search on Russian or Ukrainian women, you will find countless women looking for USA or European men to marry. I personally know a few Ukrainian women that are currently looking.

Finding a woman abroad is probably the easiest part. There are many good websites to find women from Russia or the Ukraine. My favorite site is Elena’s Models. The site is safe and actually managed by Elena herself. Now once you make that initial contact and like the response from the woman of your choice, you will find that it takes a lot of effort to build on this new relationship. Although she may be ready to start a family, nothing should take the place of building a strong bond with her. Long distance relationships are hard and a lot needs to go into them for the relationship to succeed. Always remember that women are women and they desire to have a strong, loving bond with you.

How do you go about building a strong bond with your woman? Talk often with her by phone or emails. A letter or phone call once a day should be the norm. If you cannot afford to call every day, then a simple twenty five cent text message is appropriate.

Face to face interaction is second to none. But when you are dating someone from abroad, it is impossible to have this face to face interaction every day. So what do you do? Well first off your woman will understand that you can’t be there all the time, but I do recommend you try to visit her every six months. Falling in love with just a pretty face only lasts a few months, falling in love with the actual person takes some work and traveling. So make it a point to get to know the woman before bringing her to your country. I personally visited my fiance seven times before we made the decision to marry.

You might have heard many men say that they only met their fiances once before bringing them to their country for marriage. There is nothing wrong with that. Yet with statistics like a divorce rate of 60% for K1 Visa Marriages, I personally would want to get to know my fiance a little better than just one visit. I recommend at least two or three visits in the shortest amount of time possible. It is really hard to get to know someone in just one visit. It is easy to fall in love with a pretty face, but remember beauty gets old fast. If she is not also beautiful on the inside as well, you will quickly grow tired of her. It is a lot of effort, but worth it to make those few extra trips to get to know the real person behind that beautiful face.

There is nothing that someone can tell you to ensure a strong and happy marriage. But it does help to get to know the woman you are going to marry. Keep in mind that she will have some reservations and fears about coming to your country. She is leaving behind everything to be with you, so make it a point to understand her fears and do what you can to make the transition easier for her. The first year of the marriage may be a little uncomfortable for the both of you, but once you get through the first year, everything starts to smooth out.

Here are a few others things you might want to consider. Does she enjoy watching TV? Then you might want to subscribe to a few cable or satellite Russian or Ukrainian channels. What are her hobbies? See if you can find a place for her to continue enjoying her hobbies. Almost every large city has a Russian or Ukrainian community. Find out what is going on in your community and see if you can join a Russian or Ukrainian support group. Try to do as much as possible with her and she will feel your support. Your relationship will be stronger for it.
