Almost every woman can expect to encounter and face the dreaded phase of “menopause!” Just the word “menopause” brings horrendous images to mind. Is there any coincidence that the word seems to smack you in the face with “Men” and “Pause”? What is this supposed to mean? Is the encounter with a diminishing female sex drive and aging synonymous with men (or lack of)?
Menopause has been known to inflict weight gain, low self-esteem, depression, hot flashes, sleeplessness, nervous, and irritability. You might even find that looking in a mirror is an unhappy experience. Where did the once beautiful, tight-skinned, small-waisted, and perky-breasted woman go? The colorful eyes that look back at you in the mirror are still beautiful and clear, but what evil spell transformed that perfect body into this wretched mass?
Is it my imagination, or are menopausal women lumped into an unflattering category depicting them as undesirable, droopy boob, wrinkled ‘old’ women? And, then to add insult to injury, aging men continue to be described as virile, exciting, and desirable? Elderly entertainers and actors continue to get top billing and movie contracts; for instance, Willy Nelson and Tony Bennett. But, how many elderly females can you name that remain to be popular, top box office entertainers. People just do not flock to see post-menopausal women! Is this not a cruel trick?
MEN AND MENOPAUSE
Okay, let’s get real. Honestly, most aging men are not the lovers they once were (or proclaim to have been). Health problems, weight gains, back problems, decreased stamina, early ejaculation, and just plain physical appearances diminished their abilities (even if they would never admit to this). Firm erections are mostly a thing (no pun intended) of the past, for older men! However, marketing and advertising continues to portray men as never-ending sex machines. Promises to enhance mens sexual abilities has become one of the biggest booms to modern medicine; a multi-million dollar business.
Men, also, experience menopausal symptoms, such as, depression, sexual dysfunction, personality changes, mood swings, fatigue, memory lapse, aggressive behavior, temper flares, or anxiety. However, unlike menopause in women that is represented by a well-defined period when hormone production stops completely, male hormone (testosterone) declines slower. Testosterone is not depleted from the testes quickly, and a healthy male can produce sperm into his eighties and beyond.
REVIVING WOMENS SEXUAL DESIRES
So, where are the products to revive womens sexual desires? I don’t know about you, but it seems there’s a lot of products promoting sexy lingerie, makeup, bras and panties, lubricants, and vibrators. And, every advertisement is shown with beautiful “young” women. Where are the portraits and media hypes for beautiful, desirable, exciting older women?
Okay, let’s assume a mature woman actually wears sexy lingerie, applies the makeup, and sexy underwear (or none at all). How many chances will this woman get to use these techniques? Most women would feel comfortable, of even want to be, wearing thongs, crotch-less panties, or displaying her floppy, flat breasts! Why? Because media portrays mature women as old, cellulite-inflicted, wrinkled, breast-sagging, dry vagina, not-interested-in-sex beings?
EXAMINING THE MALE BODY
In all fairness, let’s take a look at and ‘examine’ the body of elderly males. A man’s physique changes drastically (even though marketing advertisements would have you believe otherwise). Their testicles sag, erections are much softer (spongy or limp), physiques are hidden under a mushy-like skin that once bulged with muscles, butts are not tight and buff anymore, and let’s not forget that protruding gut. mature women
So, what we have here is an older woman dressed in sexy apparel, offering herself to a man with sagging testicles, inadequate or no erections, and a fading physique (and don’t be surprised if he is unable to complete penetration because of that spongy-penis or over-sized belly)!
So, exactly why is an older male considered to be an ever well-oiled sex machine? Graying, or salt and pepper, hair on a man suggests character and sexy. Women and gray hair suggests old and ready to be put out to pasture! Today, even bald men are seen as sexy. Young men, with a full head of hair, shave their heads, and women seem to be drawn to them. Now, think for a minute, just how many women with thinning hair, or no hair, are considered sexy and desirable?
VIBRATORS
Pretty much, when women reach menopause, the vibrator opts for and wins the title of “A Woman’s Best Friend.” The vibrator never disappoints and never leaves us dissatisfied, and never criticizes, judges, or voices negative words about a woman’s body. menopause The vibrator will continue to provide satisfaction and safe sexual pleasure – guaranteed! And, a vibrator is always energetic, fulfilling and ready when you are!
Many comedians have targeted menopausal symptoms as part of their routines. Menopause could be compared to “boot camp;” an experience you’re glad you had but something you never want to do again!
